Summary
This formal petition to the Australian House of Representatives demands the cessation of government partnerships with specific AI firms like Palantir and Anthropic, citing acute national security risks and ethical concerns. The document highlights the intersection of frontier AI capabilities, such as hacking-proficient models like 'Claude Mythos', and the potential for these technologies to be leveraged in autonomous warfare or state-sponsored cyberattacks. Furthermore, it addresses the environmental and economic externalities of AI data centers, arguing that current AI deployment lacks a sustainable or safe framework for Australian citizens.
Body
National Security: Artificial Intelligence
Following the release of the Palantir CEOs 22 Point Manifesto from a book he co-authored... I believe we have sufficient cause to end our Government's Partnership with Palantir. Stating the obvious, Australia should not align ourselves with any Fascist Agenda. Especially those that are not only active participants in war crimes through conflicts overseas, but actively seem to revel in it (Naming their weapons targeting programs "Wheres Daddy?"). Not unlike Israel's Leaders Signing Bombs...
Granting this foreign company not only access to our Military Data, but specifically charging them with keeping track of our Military Assets is a massive Security Risk. Especially with Project Glasswing, Anthropics most prolific hacking machine Claude Mythos now out in the wild... Another Company that our Government Partnered with a Day Before they themselves were supposedly Hacked by North Korea and had over 50 thousand lines of code leaked...
Finally there is the concerns regarding AI Data Centres, these thirsty and energy demanding Co2 generators not only at the minimum double power costs in the local area... They also irreversibly pollute the nearby water sources. Less than a dozen AI Data Centre Sites in the US produces as much Co2 in a single year as Morocco.
In Closing AI is not in the Interest of Australian Citizens, yet to produce a product that is both a profitable and doesn't kill people or irreversibly damage the environment or industry therein.
We therefore ask the House to Divest from and End Existing Contracts with AI Companies.
