Summary
Community Broker Network (CBN) has partnered with insurtech Cova to implement AI agents and automated tools across its network of over 400 authorized representatives in Australia. The platform significantly reduces administrative overhead by automating policy reviews and pre-renewal reports, claiming to reduce tasks that took 45 minutes to under a minute. While it demonstrates the rapid integration of AI capabilities into the Australian financial services sector, the focus is squarely on operational productivity and commercial competitiveness rather than safety protocols or catastrophic risk management. The deployment highlights the transition of frontier AI capabilities into specialized professional services but lacks discussion on the systemic risks of automated financial advice or data security.
Body
CBN ‘empowers brokers’ with AI platform 23 April 2026 Community Broker Network has partnered with insurtech Cova, which will provide AI tools and support to the authorised representative group.
Through the partnership more than 400 of CBN's 1400-strong network have embedded AI into their day-to-day operations.
“The initiative forms part of CBN’s broader focus on building smarter, stronger and more commercially competitive brokers, equipping its network with the tools, skills and support needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving market,” the Steadfast-owned AR group said.
CBN says tasks that "previously took hours are now being completed in minutes", enabling brokers to focus more time on advice, client relationships and growth.
"Brokers using the platform are reporting average time savings of more than five hours per week, with some achieving even greater efficiencies," it says.
"Policy reviews that once required 30 to 45 minutes can now be completed in under a minute, while pre-renewal reports and client communications are being generated in a fraction of the time."
Cova’s broking-focused platform includes an AI agent to help brokers with renewals and clients.
“This is not about replacing brokers. It is about empowering them,” CBN EGM for strategy and innovation Nese Akay said.
“AI is removing the administrative burden so brokers can spend more time where it matters most, solving insurance problems and delivering high-quality solutions for clients.”
