Bio

Dr. James Foulds is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). His research focuses on enhancing the societal role of artificial intelligence with attention to fairness and privacy, and advancing computational social science. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER and CRII awards for his contributions to understanding fairness and bias in artificial intelligence.
