Bio

Elaine Schaertl Short is the Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor in the Tufts University Department of Computer Science. She specializes in developing algorithms for assistive human-robot interaction in natural environments, backed by extensive academic achievements and research awards including a Google Anita Borg Scholarship. Elaine completed her doctoral studies at the University of Southern California and has held a postdoctoral fellowship in the Socially Intelligent Machines Lab at the University of Texas at Austin.
