Bio

Vered Shwartz is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia and holds a CIFAR AI Chair at the Vector Institute. Her research focuses on natural language processing, emphasizing building models for human-level understanding, computational semantics, and culturally-aware NLP models. Vered has a rich academic background, having completed her PhD at Bar-Ilan University and served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Allen Institute for AI and the University of Washington.
