Bio
Mary Carman is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of the Witwatersrand, with a PhD in philosophy from King's College London. Her research focuses on the philosophy of emotion and action, highlighting the role of emotion in rational agency, and extends to applied ethics, bioethics, and the ethics of AI. Her academic career includes postdoctoral roles at the Swiss Centre for Affective Sciences, University of Geneva.
