Bio

Sir David Brewster was a prominent Scottish scientist and inventor known for his groundbreaking work in physical optics, including the discovery of Brewster's angle and the invention of the kaleidoscope and stereoscopic camera. He was a principal of two major universities in Scotland and contributed significantly to popular science as a historian and biographer of Isaac Newton. Brewster was a founding director of the Scottish Society of Arts and served as president of the British Science Association.
