Bio

Richard White is the Margaret Byrne Professor of American History, Emeritus at Stanford University. He specializes in the history of the American West, capitalism, environmental history, and Native American history, having been awarded the MacArthur Fellowship and the Mellon Distinguished Professor Award. White is recognized for his extensive academic work, including multiple Pulitzer Prize nominations, and is the author of several acclaimed books on American history.
